China Telecom and Sina hold press conference displaying Sina Weibo enabled phones in Beijing

Taipei, Taiwan, Thursday 25th August 2011 – The VIA Group represented by VIA Telecom, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of CDMA chipsets, today announced its CDMA mobile processors used in China Telecom Corp feature phones will support the Sina Weibo microblogging service.

On 3 June, 2011, China Telecom and Sina entered into an agreement allowing China Telecom users to use their accounts to log into Sina Weibo. Sina Weibo is one of the most popular microblogging sites in China and provides the most registered to China Telecom for any of their internet services. Yesterday, China Telecom and Sina held a press conference in Beijing to demonstrate Sina Weibo service enabled feature phones. VIA Telecom participated in this launch event as a main CDMA silicon provider.
